Volunteer Spotlight: Mandy E. at South Jordan Fire Station in South Jordan, Utah

When/How did you begin participating with Bountiful Baskets?

My sister from Idaho told me about it.

Why did you become a site Coordinator?

I was asked by my friend Anna to train to be a backup for her.  I was subbing fairly often for her and others when the regular Site Coordinator for B Week at our site said she had to step down. My Area Coordinator asked if I wanted to take over since I subbed there and knew the routine.  I was excited to see my people more often.

What is your Favorite Part about Bountiful Baskets?

I really appreciate the chance to try new foods that I probably would not have purchased at the grocery store because I didn’t know what it was. (Nor was I brave enough to try it on my own.)
What is your favorite part about Volunteering/running a site?

I love people, they are all so interesting!

Tell us a little about your Site and your Co-Volunteer Site Coordinator?

My co-VSC (Volunteer Site Coordinator) is one of the neatest ladies you’ll ever meet. She remembers how you helped her once and returns it 10 fold.

What makes your site Fun or Unique?

It’s so much fun, but its chaotic fun. Our participants are so great they often donate part of their baskets to our fire station that hosts our site

How has Bountiful Baskets changed your life?

I live that BB provides a great way to help my family eat healthy at a great cost.

What do you do when you are not doing Bountiful Baskets?

When not doing BB I spend time with my family, most often will be helping my oldest with his scout duties.

Tell us about your Family?

I have a great husband.  We have a 12 year old boy and a 5 month old boy and a 4 year old lab.

If you could have 1 super power What would it be?

I would choose to have the super power of teleporting. I love to travel! 😀

How many baby giraffes did you contribute for last April?

I didn’t contribute for any….my home is too small for a giraffe! 😉

**From all of us at the South Jordan Fire Station…We would LOVE for you to join us in the fun and unique experience that comes every time when volunteering for Bountiful Baskets!**

I'm married and am very blessed to be the mother of a gorgeous little 2 year old named Mac. I live in good ol' North Dakota! I love to do many things. Laugh, love, write and cook. Mostly, I like to enjoy life to the fullest. That's probably why I love cooking so much. There is no right or wrong way of doing it. My day job keeps me very busy but its also extremely rewarding. I work for a company called Pride Inc. We serve individuals with developmental disabilities. So most of the people on my caseload are like my family. For me, I learned from my grandma that cooking brought people together. I associated it with happiness, love and togetherness and who doesn't want those things in life! So I've always tried to continue that in my own life with my own family. Nothing brings people together like a good meal. And a few good laughs!
