Pearsauce! I have made applesauce for years for my family. I was looking at the bowl of pears that sat on my counter and thought, hmmm, pearsauce! This was my first attempt at making it and my family loves it! I peeled and diced the pears and slowly simmered it on the stove. When I added the spices to it, the whole house smelled yummy! Pearsauce is great on toast or just in a bowl for breakfast. I hope you will try this recipe and enjoy it, too!
Pearsauce
Ingredients
- 10-12 peeled and diced pears
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or freshly squeezed lemon
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sugar, optional
Instructions
- Put peeled, diced pears into a large pot on stove on medium heat
- Add water and lemon juice
- Let simmer until soft - about 20 minutes
- Add cinnamon and vanilla and stir
- Add sugar if you want it sweeter
- Let cool
- Then put in blender or smoothie maker and blend until smooth
- Put in clean jars or plastic containers
- Refrigerate- use within one week
- Makes 2 - 3 jars of pearsauce
- Serve on toast or in a bowl
- Enjoy!
