Vanilla Sugar

Vanilla sugar is such a simple and delicious way to use the entire vanilla bean. It is so simple that it is hard to even call it a “recipe”.

I do this anytime we are lucky enough to get vanilla beans in our tropical packs. You can make vanilla sugar with the whole vanilla bean, a scraped vanilla bean after it has been used for a recipe or even that vanilla bean you find buried somewhere, forgotten. Surely I’m not the only one who has committed the atrocious act of neglecting their vanilla beans… Or maybe I am.

You can use vanilla sugar just like you would granulated sugar.  I especially love to use this in coffee or tea, mixed into oatmeal or sprinkled on muffins.
