Comfort food seems to be my specialty. Serve this with a green salad, and you have a solid home-run dinner. The sauce is perfect for family, and is a great basic BBQ sauce that you can add to if you want to dress it up or suit your own tastes. I got started making my own when I started getting bad MSG headaches. It’s so simple it’s a fallback with my crockpot when I want an amazing dinner with minimal effort.

This week we went from a beautiful 80° day on Sunday to chilly, windy fall weather on Monday. And fall weather totally calls for soup. I’ve been hoarding the root vegetables that have been in my baskets the last couple of week and decided this was the time for a soup creation to go along with the weather.

Get a celery root in your organic basket this week? Have no idea what to do with it!? I didn’t get an organic basket but was lucky enough to have a friend who didn’t want to make an attempt with it, so kindly gave it to me….I again haven’t tried this before but what I do know is that in our home, my husband and I have “the secret ingredient” it’s a term we lovingly use for celery seed. It is one of our favorite things to cook with! So, the chance to try something fun with the root sounded exciting to me!!!
